One of the major benefits of owning Holiday Ownership is that you are spared the hassle of worrying about the maintenance and upkeep of your holiday "home away from home", both while on holiday or when back at home, thus leaving you free to enjoy a much needed break and have fun when you are on holiday – not worry about leaking taps or any other unpleasant maintenance issue!

As Royal members know this is something we take this very seriously, and so aside from attending to any minor maintenance issues that may occur on a daily basis, it is also customary that we tackle as many jobs as we can around all of the resorts in Goa over the summer period when space allows.

This year was no exception, with all resorts again seeing continuing works. It was Haathi Mahal, however, that took the lion’s share of
the work, and it is looking great!

Refurbishment completed at Haathi Mahal includes:

Major Refurbishment of 40 Non Imperials Villas:

  • Kitchen work counters have been modified and extended, and new LED lighting installed above the counters for better and more aesthetic illumination.
  • New 180 litre fridge installed. All surfaces have been re-painted to include new signature feature walls in the living area and bedrooms
  • 2 bedroom villas have had bathrooms completely re-designed, with new tiling, new modern wash basin, new WC and health faucet, new shower screen, new vanity mirror, toiletries shelf, hand rail and towel rack, as well as new LED lighting and exhaust fan.
  • 1 bedroom villas have new pedestal lamps in the living area

All wooden furniture and fittings have been sanded down and re-polished New ceiling fans have been fitted

In All Villas:

  • Sofa beds have been re-upholstered in new fabric, new bed sashes laid and new scatter cushions placed for comfort
  • Wicker chairs and cushions have been re-upholstered in new fabric
  • Dining chairs have been re-upholstered in durable and washable rexin
  • Curtains have been replaced with modern blinds

Work will commence on the balance villas that we were unable to complete next year.

To the Common Areas:

Spa.
Under the curatorship of industry famous Judy Chapman, the spa has been upgraded to a ‘Karma Spa’ where a luxurious yet natural and healing experience awaits you.

Reception.
The reception has had a re-paint with a new colour scheme, and the furniture re-upholstered to match.

Recreation.
The recreation area has been re-designed into an outdoor lounge area, replete with swaying palms and comfortable cane sofas and furniture, perfect for that pre-dinner cocktail, check of your e-mail while having a coffee and perhaps slice of cake, and a separate games area.

Pool & Casa Lisboa.
The lower pool beneath Casa Lisboa restaurant has been re-paved, and a Meditteranean feel natural stone bridge and balustrade now flanks the pool, walkway to the restaurant and restaurant wall; while Casa Lisboa has also been repainted with a new colour scheme, and now benefits from a more open aspect overlooking the pool.

Here’s what some of the members who have been lucky enough to see the work for themselves have to say.

Daya Narain and family"We have been members of RGBC since 1996 and we enjoy coming to the resorts in Goa; specially Haathi Mahal. This year in particular, we are very pleased to see the developments at Haathi Mahal. The apartments have a very fresh and upgraded look. For instance the sofa cum beds have got new upholstery giving it a very modern and elegant look. The balcony too has been improved from the previous year.

Besides the apartments, the newly opened "Karma Spa" is simply mind blowing. Its unique style and features has to definitely make it one of the best in Goa.

Well done RGBC and we hope you will continue the great work in the years to come."

"Further to your upgrading of the apartments we can honestly say that the bathroom upgrade is a 100% improvement, looking much cleaner and with improved lighting for shaving etc. The whole feel is much brighterand modern. The new reupholstery and blinds also look great ... a
good improvement!"

Royal Members"We have been coming to Goa for the last 5 to 6 years, and our experience with Royal has always been good to date, however, this year it just got even better... The new upholstery for the sofa bed and the dining chairs has given the apartment a luxurious look. As for the Karma Spa, it is a fantastic place to relax and rejuvenate your senses. We are highly pleased with the introduction of the new spa, and look forward to returning again next year!"

We all need time to enjoy the finer aspects of life and there is no better time to do that, than when taking holidays.

As a family man myself, living in a world where these days we all seem to have to work extra hard, I believe that we therefore cherish, all the more, the simple pleasures in life as well as any quality time we manage to spend with the family...
