Neil Taylor - Royal's New Director of Resort Management in India

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Taylor as our new Director of Resort Management in India. Originally from Scotland, Neil has retained a soft Scottish brogue despite his many years living and working in Asia. More importantly, he is a highly experienced and successful hospitality professional who has provided effective oversight of pre-openings at various stages in his career and worked with some of the biggest hotel brands in the world. Previous appointments include a stint as General Manager of the Radisson Plaza Resort in Phuket and General Manager of the Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa, where he presided over the hotel's change in status to that of a stand-alone property. Neil is particularly committed to ongoing staff training to ensure an optimal guest experience. He has been swift in implementing training courses and staff monitoring and guests at Haathi Mahal are remarking about visible changes and improvements. Neil is also responsible for Royal Goan Beach Club, Ratan Haveli and now Royal Kovalam Beach Club. Over the last few months, he has been concentrating on setting up and fitting out the latter, Royal's latest property in Kerala. Already his input has been of huge value and we look forward to continued dynamism as he continues in this vital role.

 

Imperial Apartments

In addition to plans to increase the number of Imperial apartments in our Goan properties for the coming season We are pleased to advise that the following Imperial apartments are now available to those members who have purchased an Imperial Upgrade or upgraded to one of our eligible Points Clubs:

Two One-Bedroom apartments (sleeping four)

It should be noted that two out of the three One-Bedroom Imperial apartments now available in Jimbaran are actually private One-Bedroom villas physically located in Karma Jimbaran.  As Bali is an extremely high demand destination we would recommend that you submit your requests to check for space as early as possible regardless of whether you are wanting to book accommodation in one of our resorts against an Entitlement Exchange or taking advantage of our great value discounted offsite bonus / rental offers.

If you wish to submit requests to check the availability in any of the above listed properties against Entitlement Exchange / Bonus or discounted Rental bookings, you need only contact Royal Exchange (REX) with details of where, when and how many people are wishing to travel (adults / children & their ages) so we can check availability on your behalf. If you' re not looking to take a holiday this year or you do not wish to make use of your Entitlement, please do remember to request Royal Exchange (REX) to bank / roll over your Entitlement before the end of November to avoid it expiring.

 

Resort Maintenance and Refurbishment Programme

Every monsoon we carry out extensive work on all resorts to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the resorts. This year, many of our properties are undergoing radical transformations, with brand new fittings, furnishings and facilities. Below is a summary of the works planned for this season:

Monte Rio, Goa
* Total renovation of the top pool at Monte Rio
* Refurbishment of Mont Rio units, including all new furnishings, fixtures and fittings

Haathi Mahal, Goa
* Retiling of Haathi Mahal main pool,
* Beautification of Casa Lisboa restaurant
* Refurbishing of Haathi Mahal non-imperial villas

Royal Goan Beach Club at Royal Palms
* Repair of Royal Palms Pool
* New K-Spa facility
* Installation of more Imperial Units across the resorts

For those visiting us during this period, which runs until September - every effort will be made to keep inconvenience to a minimum.

 

Goan Check In / Out Days

In recognition of the difficulties associated with arranging flights to our Goan properties that coincide with the resort check in days we have now introduced a second check in day for this Club. Although many of our Points members already have the flexibility of being able to check in on any day other members, regardless of the Club owned, now have the option of confirming accommodation from either Friday or Saturday. With space over the coming months and next season rapidly filling, we would recommend that you start planning your next holiday without delay so as to avoid disappointment.

 

Weekend Activities Programmes

Come holiday with Royal this monsoon! Recognising that many members are inclined to enjoy the cool monsoon period in Goa, we are promoting special long weekend breaks this July/August period. These weekends are intended to be full of activities for parents and kids alike, with a full-scale programme of exciting happenings.

These will include - magic storms, movies, sports competitions, swimming lessons, kids, disco and more. Week members can purchase bonus time. Points members can use their points entitlement.

 

The Points Club expands

The search is on for more destinations around India to give our ever-growing number of points members even greater choice. Currently we are looking closely at Coorg, Lonavala, Nainital, Shimla and Udaipur. We'd love some feedback from members - after all, we're expanding to better serve you.
